Heating Up
The summer heat is on, and so are we. This month we kept the fans running in the workshop and shipped a stack of improvements aimed at one thing: making AAArdvark more dependable every time you reach for it.
July’s updates are all about reliability and follow-through – a rebuilt Visual Mode, smarter scan error handling, and a lot more fix guidance baked right into the app.
New Updates in AAArdvark
Here’s what’s new in the AAArdvark accessibility testing platform:
- A More Reliable Visual Mode – We rebuilt Visual Mode from the ground up so it holds steady across many more site setups, including the ones that tripped up the previous version. Run a scan, and Visual Mode lays your issues right over the live page so you can see exactly what needs fixing and where. And if your site sits behind a login, you can now reach it through browse mode.
- Smarter Scan Error Handling – We reworked how scan errors get classified, so a slow origin server or a temporary gateway hiccup no longer shows up looking like an accessibility problem. That means fewer false positives cluttering your results, and clearer messages on the rare occasion a page genuinely can’t be reached.
- Even More In-App Fix Guidance – Last month we expanded our plain-language fix guidance, and this month we kept going – many more failure types across both automated and manual checks now come with specific, tailored steps for fixing that exact issue. Finding problems was never the hard part. Fixing them is, and we keep closing that gap.
- Outgoing Webhooks Are Live – Connect AAArdvark to the tools your team already uses. Scan and issue events get delivered to your endpoints automatically, with signed, versioned payloads you can build on without second-guessing.
Coming Soon
We’ve got a couple more things on the burner:
- AAArdvark MCP (Beta) – We’re opening a beta that lets AI assistants work directly with your AAArdvark data – scanning, triaging, and pulling WCAG guidance without leaving the tools you already use. Want in? Just hit reply and we’ll add you to the beta.
- PDF Scanning – Accessibility doesn’t stop at your web pages, and PDFs are next on our list. Soon you’ll be able to check your PDF documents for accessibility issues right alongside the rest of your site.
